The Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, established in 1922, is the first chapter of our international organization to be chartered in the metropolitan Louisville area. The chapter's commitment to education and the advancement of individuals is pivotal to the foundational belief of service to all mankind.

 

We maintain the values of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, by promoting high scholastic academic advancement, demonstration of professionalism, and representation of service in the community. The membership, comprised of distinguished women who boast excellent academic achievements and proven leadership skills, is involved in the global community through advocacy and service. Eta Omega is dedicated to improving the quality of life for citizens worldwide and promoting peace. Collectively, we utilize our resources to provide service to the community locally, regionally, and internationally. The chapter regularly partners with other organizations to achieve its goals of service to the community and all mankind.

 

Eta Omega impacts the lives of individuals worldwide through its implementation of our international programs.  Service and sisterhood have been the cornerstone of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since 1908. Our signature program under this administration is AKA Foster The Future: From Here to Hope with the theme "Championing Service. Empowering Sisterhood. Transforming the World.", the 2026-2030 administration seeks to build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s rich legacy of service by galvanizing our sisterhood of more than 390,000 members to lead on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy.

This administration has eight targets and over the next four years, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® will expand opportunity, support families, invest in education, prioritize health and wellness, strengthen economic prosperity, celebrate arts and culture, advocate for communities, engage the next generation, and extend our reach across the globe.

Developed through conversations with members, chapter leaders, educators, families, business professionals, and community stakeholders across the sisterhood, the 2026–2030 Community Service Program reflects a shared vision for activities that are customizable, sustainable, collaborative, and impactful. The result is a comprehensive framework that empowers chapters of every size and capacity to meet the unique needs of their communities while creating lasting global impact.

Finally, Eta Omega boasts proudly of being a local and world servant, and we are continually seeking women of high scholastic, ethical, and moral standards who also want to strive to do things that are worthwhile. Our efforts are united, and because of that, the Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, is a strong, close-knit group of women who strive to make a difference in the lives of all people.  We are committed to serving ALL mankind.
